The teenage son of OLIVIA and SEAN, MAX lives with his mother and stepfather, RAY, a firefighter. He builds a zero-carbon-imprint eco-treehouse behind his parents’ house. Max suffers from awkward Déjà Vu experiences, misdiagnosed and treated with Adderall. While volunteering at the local aquarium, he gets his pet octopus, SQUIRT, now living in a giant tank in the treehouse above the garage. One day Squirt taps a code which Max shares with his aunt, EVE and with his dad, SEAN. This code helps them solve a DNA puzzle explaining the heightened animal intelligence. SQUIRT reaches out of the tank with his tentacle and throws Max’s Adderall out. Inspired by the scientific instincts of his absent, nomadic father and the heroic behavior of his fire-fighting stepfather, Max embraces his Déjà Vu experiences and becomes a leader of young warriors in California, and later the face of the new generation of ECO2.
